Trade unionist with accusations against Asen Vasilev for the minimum wage

The caretaker government that has taken office must continue the measures and cannot make sudden moves. The cabinet is obliged to prepare, as far as possible, the next budget, and the increase of the minimum wage can also be included in it, Vanya Grigorova, an economic adviser from KT Podkrepa, said in an interview with BNR.

According to Grigorova, the minimum wage should become at least BGN 850 if we want to comply with the directive of the European Commission.

Asen Vasilev was the reason why it froze at the levels of April 1, he also expressed concerns about the update of pensions, the expert noted.

The recalculation of pensions from October 1 is included in the budget, Grigorova recalled.

She pointed out that due to the missing definition of energy poor, many people in need will not receive assistance.

In her words, “we are coming to a point where people will not be able to pay for their electricity in the summer” before the heating subsidies come in the fall and winter. “Poor families consume more electricity,” revealed Grigorova.

“It is not acceptable in the 21st century to try to get back the hygiene habits of the 18th”, commented Vanya Grigorova regarding the restrictions that Western Europe recommends in order to save in a situation of gas crisis and rising energy prices.

She gave the example of hotels in Austria, where after 10 p.m. they already turn off the hot water, and Germany, where they organize public warm rooms, where those whose homes will not be warm enough can go to warm themselves. Against this background, we do not even know how many homeless people there are.
