Supporters of Sunday shopping have been waiting for this Sunday for over two months, from Easter. Now the break between trading Sundays will be slightly shorter, because the next one will be the last Sunday in August. The next commercial Sunday is to celebrate (buy?) Holiday, the next will be – for the same, but on the occasion of the school year.
June 28 is commercial Sunday, one of only a few in which we can shop in 2020 without checking whether the store where we would like to do it is open or closed.
Shopping on Sunday, June 28 or Saturday?
For sure, many shopping enthusiasts will have galleries and shopping centers because the best summer sales are underway, which this year began very early.
However, from a logistical point of view, shopping on Saturday is still a good solution – the momentum is the days of the fiercest battles for the customer, and thus additional promotions; on Saturdays, you can buy many products – and those suitable for stocks due to their long shelf life – both at discount stores (Lidl, Biedronka, Mila) and the largest supermarkets in terms of dimensions: Auchan or Carrefour.

Clearance sale of the coronavirus day
The beginning of summer sales is behind us. This is the most anticipated moment among consumers. When planning the purchase of clothing and footwear for the summer, we often take into account the date of the start of the season of price reductions in stores, which in 2019 and previous years fell in the second half of June. It is not difficult to guess, however, that the pandemic has destroyed the current order.
As noted by expert Domodi.pl, however, the biggest change is the amount of discounts that await users. They have already reached 50% in some stores, and such prices a year ago could not have been expected until the beginning of July. This decisive acceleration of sales does not necessarily mean a faster end. In magazines of many brands there is a lot of goods that did not sell out in the spring season due to the situation with coronavirus, which is why in my opinion sales will last about 6-8 weeks. And in their second round, that is in about 14 days, we will already see prices cut by up to 80%!

Although there is not much Sunday on trade bans this year and in most months there is not a single trading Sunday, June is still in favor of Sunday without a trade ban. Sunday, June 28, will be a commercial Sunday – you can thus, shopping without restrictions, welcome the holiday of 2020.

Trade ban on Sunday 2020. Time for local stores
Shops run on Sunday only by the owner plus possibly close family members will now pass a real test of truth. When trading Sundays are nothing, we either get into the habit of buying in small shops or eventually forget about them. Buyers must be more expensive, because they also pay high wholesale prices when purchasing goods. And they must earn a living and keep their store. When they add to the prices at which they bought the goods, they certainly can not compete even with Carrefour, not to mention Biedronka or Lidl.

But the buyer’s advantage is knowing their customers almost face to face. He can easily determine what goods they are looking for. Instead of any butter, it can import butter from Kosów Lacki or white cheese from Gołuchów. In wholesalers, they cost almost the same, and for a particular customer they have a value incomparably greater than any other. As consumers, we become picky and ready to pay for what we like more. What is important – we can afford it more and more.
This is an opportunity for small buyers: to import products for known clients.
Trade ban on Sunday 2020. Sunday is Sunday
However, we will not give up on Saturdays. Once, after all, shopping has to be done, and the trading week has shrunk to absurd proportions.
In addition to shopping malls, in larger stores in 2019, the trend of a decreasing number of buyers could be observed. Many people simply did not want to play Russian roulette – a non-commercial Sunday – and either moved the shopping routine on weekdays or used the option of shopping in online stores – where it is technically possible (because not e.g. in the village near Małkinia).
Shopping malls, however, began to change their functions, or more precisely – to shift the accents from the function of “shopping” to “gallery”. In addition to cinemas, more and more fitness centers, children’s clubs, etc. – not banned from trading on Sunday – makes it possible to go to such a gallery on Sunday for entertainment. And if stores are also open, then by the way, shopping will be done. We still do not know how freezing the gallery due to coronavirus will affect this process – divided after frostbite. Some of the existing outlets from the gallery are withdrawing, but certainly more companies will come in their place. Whether it will be an advantage of shops or services, which are not covered by the ban on Sunday, remains an unresolved issue and even difficult to forecast.
