Trade relations after Brexit: UK-EU agreement

London: The European Union (EU) has reached an agreement with Britain on a trade deal to be put forward even after Brexit. It has created the impression that Britain’s dominance over the region, including its territorial waters, has been eroded. London views Boris Johnson’s diplomatic excellence in trade and commerce. On December 31, Britain withdrew completely from the European Union and opposed a joint agreement on various agreements.

The two sides signed a 34-page memorandum of understanding (MoU) acknowledging Britain’s demand that Thiruva and Quota be abolished. And Boris Johnson’s policy that all nations have the right to act freely in any field was accepted. Britain was strongly opposed to Russian monopoly in some areas. But the European Union did not agree at first. The landmark decision that European rules or court law would not affect Britain was also accepted.

Boris Johnson was adamant that maritime trade and fisheries rights should not be shared with the European Union, which comprises a total of 27 countries. The EU has taken the strategic approach that the agreement is too weak but that it is a better partnership than complete opposition from the UK.

The agreements were signed by Lord Frost, trade coordinator for Britain, and Uruswela von Der Lane, head of the European Commission. Traders say the deal is a gift to the European Union on Christmas Eve. Boris Johnson is preparing for a compromise after four and a half years of continuous effort.
