Algermissen (dpa / lni) – tractor instead of drive-in cinema: 230 tractors and a combine harvester drove up to a cinema screening in the municipality of Algermissen in the district of Hildesheim. A total of 584 spectators enjoyed the film screening in their vehicles in the best weather, as spokeswoman Lisa Hartje said on Saturday evening.
The rural youth Hildesheimer Börde had expected around 300 heavy vehicles at the open-air event in the Harsumer Feldmark. Admission was at 6 p.m., the film “Manta, Manta” started at 8 p.m. There was also popcorn, soda and fries.
Farmers from all over the region were expected. The heavy vehicles should be sorted according to size for the film screening so that every visitor has a good view of the screen. Cars were not allowed due to the high risk of fire. The organizers announced that there would be seating on straw bales for “pedestrians”.
