Tractel has a new owner. Its majority shareholder, the Cinven fund, has just sold for €500 million the French manufacturer of safety equipment for working at height and PPE to Alimak, a Swedish company specializing in vertical access solutions for construction and industry.

Created more than 70 years ago, the French company domiciled in Luxembourg now has subsidiaries in 20 countries, major production sites in Europe (France, Germany, Poland, Spain), the United States ( Minneapolis, Houston), Canada (Toronto, Montreal), China (Shanghai), Singapore and Turkey and nearly 10,000 distributors worldwide including Prolians, Groupe Setin, Bricozor. Its turnover during the twelve-month period ending June 30, 2022 increased by 7% and amounted to €201 million. According to the press release, the combination of Tractel and Alimak “will create a leading global company with significant opportunities for future growth in a market where the penetration of its products and services is considerable. »
