Event Highlights
despite a two-hour weather delay,TCU’s track and field team showcased thier resilience at the Bill Schmidt Invite,securing eight victories.The meet, hosted by UNT, saw standout performances across various disciplines.
Distance Dominance
- 3000m steeplechase: Stone Burke set the pace early, claiming first place with a time of 9:30.19.
- Women’s 5000m: Gabby Martin (17:34.04) and Olivia andrews (17:48.25) achieved a one-two finish, demonstrating TCU’s depth in distance running.
- Men’s 5000m: Brayden Schick,running unattached,led the pack in his collegiate track debut,finishing in 15:01.61.
- 1500m: Mohammed Kowa (3:54.20) and Anastacia Gonzales (4:33.63) secured wins in the men’s and women’s races, respectively.
Kowa’s Stellar Performance
junior Mohammed Kowa had a memorable day, securing two event wins. He not only triumphed in the 1500m but also returned later to win the 800m.
Crawford Leads in 800m
Sasha Crawford earned her first outdoor win of the season in the 800m, clocking in at 2:13.23. Her teammates Georgia Scott and Anastacia Gonzales followed closely, completing a one-two-three sweep for TCU.
Field Event Victories
- Long Jump: Yannik Knobloch soared to victory in the long jump with a wind-aided (+5.0) leap of 7.28m (23-10.50).
- Triple Jump: Alleah Krote secured first place in the triple jump with a jump of 12.37m (40-7.00).
Pole Vault Performances
TCU’s freshman pole vaulters showed promise. Michael McCloy finished third, clearing 4.75m (15-7.00), while Mamie Grace McClelland set a personal record of 3.50m (11-5.75) to finish fifth.
Sprints and Finals
Finn dunshee qualified for the men’s final and finished as runner-up in 10.50. In the women’s final, freshman Bryce Brazzell took fourth overall with a time of 11.81.Mikayla Hayes, after running an impressive 11.72 in the prelims, did not participate in the final.

TCU will compete at the 44 Farms Team Invitational in College Station on April 11-12.
