Pandeglang – The Pandeglang Health Office (Dinkes) in collaboration with the Indonesian Midwives Association (IBI) to conduct an examination
HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis in thousands of pregnant women in 35 sub-districts.
This examination was carried out simultaneously in each Puskesmas with a target of 3,600 pregnant women. This activity is in commemoration of World AIDS Day 2021.
In addition, the Health Office and IBI held seminars in order to increase knowledge, awareness and independence of the community in preventing infection and transmission of HIV AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI).
“This activity is to increase knowledge, awareness and independence of the community in the prevention and control of HIV AIDS and STIs through resource mobilization involving all sectors,” said Head of the Pandeglang Health Office, Raden Dewi Setiani, Wednesday 1 December 2021.
Through the seminar, he hopes, it can strengthen integrated collaboration between various stakeholders in implementing the prevention and control of HIV AIDS and STIs.
As well as increasing resource mobilization in ending AIDS as a public health threat. Dewi appealed to the people of Pandeglang Regency to be aware of the transmission of HIV and AIDS.
“The commemoration of World AIDS Day 2021 is expected to achieve the goals and involvement of all stakeholders as a concrete step in achieving AIDS 2030,” he hoped.
In addition, to increase public awareness, the Health Office also put up banners and billboards at strategic places both by the Public Health Center and by the Pandeglang Health Office.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Section for the P3M Health Service (Dinkes) Pandeglang Dr. Kartirini explained, during 2021 the number of people with HIV and AIDS was 47 people.
The patient data this year has decreased when compared to the previous year.
“There is a decrease in HIV positive patients this year from the previous year or in 2020 there were as many as 62,” he said. (Advertorials)
