Toyota launches GRMN Yaris, car GR Yaris fully modified version. The Toyota GRMN Yaris made its debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon.
This hot hatch is produced in limited quantities. The Toyota GRMN Yaris is only produced 500 units and sold through GR Garages in Japan through a lottery system. Selected lucky consumers will be contacted starting March 9, 2022.
According to Toyota, the GRMN Yaris was developed with input from a team of professional drivers, including Toyota Motor Corporation President Akio Toyoda, who raced on the GR Yaris under the pseudonym “Morizo” in the Super Taikyu Series.
The GRMN Yaris offers increased rigidity of the car body thanks to an additional 545 weld points, more structural adhesive and reinforcement supports that take up trunk space. The reinforcement makes the back seat removed. Other items such as the touchscreen infotainment system were removed.
Other changes to the cabin include a pair of Recaro full bucket seats as well as an Alcantara-coated steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake. The plaque on the center console has also been replaced with the GRMN badge.

In terms of mechanical changes, the GRMN Yaris gets a mechanical limited-slip differential at the front and rear, a reinforced three-piece clutch plate. The 1.6-liter G16E-GTS turbocharged three-cylinder engine is left as the standard GR Yaris which still produces 272 PS and 370 Nm of torque.
In appearance, the Toyota GRMN Yaris is 10 mm wider and 10 mm lower than the GR Yaris. This is to support better aerodynamics and a lower center of gravity.
The car also gets a new roof and a ventilated hood made of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). With several components removed from the cabin of the GR Yaris, now the GRMN Yaris is about 20 kg lighter.

Toyota also offers two optional packages. The first is the Rally Package which adds a GR-tuned shock absorber and a short stabilizer link set, an underguard set and a roll bar with side protection.
The other option is called the Circuit Package which focuses on road performance and will be installed on only 50 cars. This package is much more complete, there are 18-inch BBS wheels, 18-inch brakes, CFRP swan neck rear wing, front lip spoiler, side skirts and a set of Bilstein shock absorbers with adjustable damping. A special Matte Steel body color is also available with this pack.
This limited-production car starts at 7,317,000 yen (Rp 919 million) for the standard GRMN Yaris, 8,467,000 yen (Rp 1.06 billion) for the GRMN Yaris Circuit Package and 8,378,764 yen (Rp 1.05 billion). ) for Rally Packages.
