Toyota has brought the production version of the new generation Mirai hydrogen sedan to final tests. Spy photos of the car posted by the edition Engine1… The official premiere of the car will take place in December this year. In the USA, Europe and Japan, sales of new items will start before the end of 2020. Pricing for the next generation Mirai has yet to be announced.
In the pictures, the car is still partially hidden under camouflage. However, we can already say that the five-seater sedan will receive an unusual wide radiator grille, sloping roofline and large rims. Photos of the car’s interior have not yet been shown. The hydrogen car is expected to be equipped with a digital instrument cluster and a large display for the multimedia system.
The novelty will be built on the TNGA platform. All other details about the car Toyota is keeping secret. According to unofficial data, the sedan, like its predecessor, will be equipped with three hydrogen tanks. However, on the new Mirai, their volume will be increased, thanks to which the car will be able to drive 30% more without recharging. It is expected that the range of the car will exceed 650 kilometers.

As for the sedan of the current generation, its power plant is 155 horsepower. The sedan accelerates to the first 100 km / h in 9 seconds. The Mirai’s power reserve is 500 km, and the car recharging time does not exceed three minutes.
The Mirai isn’t the only hydrogen-powered car the Japanese are working on. Also in the plans of Toyota is to establish the production of trucks with power plants on fuel cells. This project of the Japanese company was named Project Portal. In addition, Toyota does not exclude the creation of passenger buses with hydrogen power plants.
