Toyota’s Diesel Engines: Power Testing Scandal and Model Deliveries Halted

“Toyota” states that this structural unit has not performed adequate power testing of the three diesel engine models, which is required for the certification of these engines.

The company explains that a total of ten models, including the Land Cruiser 300 and HiAce, use these engines.

Toyota Industries said in a separate report that employees adjusted fuel injection figures to make the data “look better.”

Toyota emphasizes that it is not necessary to discontinue the use of the affected engines and cars, but the company has also decided to stop deliveries of ten models.

The automaker does not specify how many cars are affected by this problem.

This is yet another misfortune that has hit “Toyota” after the scandal of falsification of car safety tests in the structural unit “Daihatsu”.
