Toyota Yaris Cross: more power among the new features

MORE POWER – Two years after its debut, an update arrives for the Toyota Yaris Cross: the most important news is the Hybid 130 version with the engine already available on the Yaris sedan. With the 132 HP variant, which joins the 116 HP one, the Yaris Cross thus offers better performance while always maintaining the full-hybrid setting that characterizes the model. The hybrid system of the new version is equipped with a larger and more powerful electric motor-generator that allows for increase not only there power but also the couple, which goes from 141 to 185 Nm. The result is faster acceleration (10.7 s, half a second less from 0-100 compared to the 116 HP version) without having a heavy impact on the environment (103-122 g /km of CO2 for the Hybrid 130 versus 100-115 g/km for the 116) and with consumption between 4.5 and 5.4 litres/100 km (18.5-22.2 km/l). The new engine will be offered on high-end models, including Premiere Edition and GR Sport in select markets.

TECHNOLOGIES FOR COMFORT… – At the same time, the Toyota Yaris Cross also benefits from a series of measures that aim to improve comfort on board, reducing noise and vibrations. Connectivity and entertainment benefit from a new multimedia system that is more powerful, faster in response and with more functions. The voice recognition technology has been enhanced and responds to the command “Hey Toyota” even in the face of natural language. For example, by saying “Hey Toyota, I’m cold”, the system will automatically increase the climate control temperature.

…AND FOR SAFETY – The Toyota Yaris Cross benefited from the extensive package of safety, called Toyota T-Mate, also available on the Yaris sedan. All this translates into a safer and easier car to drive and park thanks to the introduction of the Safety Sense systems supplied as standard on the entire small range. A new system of cameras and radar it is able to guarantee wider scans than before, detecting potential accident risks more effectively. Toyota T-Mate provides protection even when the car is stationary: for example the optional Safe Exit Assist helps prevent a door from opening while vehicles or cyclists are approaching from behind. The Rear Seat Reminder System, on the other hand, warns the driver with light and sound signals if he forgets a child or a pet in the back seat.

PREMIERE EDITION – The Premiere Editionoffered with the two-tone paint Urban Khaki with black roof and 18-inch 5-spoke gray alloy wheels. The green of the bodywork is also recalled inside the passenger compartment, in particular with the stitching of the upholstery and the decorative lines on the instrument panel and doors. The Premiere Edition is also available in the two-tone Platinum Pearl White and Silver Metallic colors, while the new Juniper Blue paintwork is added to the rest of the range.
