Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Toyota is predicted to soon release the latest model of the All New Avanza at the end of this year or early next year. This information also makes people wait for his presence.
This fact seems to show that the 7-passenger Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segmentation is still the choice of the Indonesian people.
From the Instagram account @bagasatriakbar who rendered the new Avanza model, netizens’ aspirations were revealed. Many netizens are wondering, including excerpts from his post “When will the new Avanza launch”. Meanwhile another account said “wooo, really cool, when is the new Toyota Avanza launching”.
How does Toyota respond to the interest in this segment that consumers have been waiting for?
“Yes, until now, 7 seaters, one of which is MPV, is still a favorite in Indonesia, and one of the factors is that it may be suitable for our culture in Indonesia to gather together and others,” said Head of Media Relations of PT Toyota Astra Motor. (TAM) Dimas Aska to CNBC Indonesia.
The MPV segment is Toyota’s main support for sales. On average, more than 50% of its sales come from this segment. One of the keys to high sales is because manufacturers must understand what consumers want. For this reason, updates to various features and capabilities must continue to increase.
So indeed, the key to the success of a model is not only from features or maybe shapes and others, but is a combination that is suitable for our consumers from various factors, capacities, features, capabilities to be used in Indonesia, and many other things. In the future, we also hope that we can continue to fulfill this need,” said Dimas.
The Avanza is still one of the best-selling cars from Toyota. Last March or since the relaxation of the Sales Tax on Luxury Goods (PPnBM) took place, this car became the best-selling car in Indonesia with sales of 7,251 units. This is the reason Toyota does not seem to be releasing the All New Avanza in the near future.
“Moreover, the demand is still quite high at the beginning of this year until this May, where the Avanza continues to be one of the favorite products of the Indonesian people with retail sales of 17,769 units from January to April as the largest contributor contributing 22.2% of total sales ( Toyota),” said Henry Tanoto, Vice President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor.
