Toyota Unveils New Electric Crossovers at Beijing Motor Show – Assembly Line Ready for 2024

Toyota has arrived at the Beijing Motor Show with two new products that will already be on the assembly line this year.

Electric crossovers bZ3C and bZ3X were developed in cooperation with Chinese partners and are intended for the Chinese market, with an emphasis on younger customers. The manufacturer does not reveal the technical characteristics, only saying that both are united by a common platform.

Toyota assisted FAW and BYD in developing the bZ3C crossover, which is different from the coupe group, while the bZ3X is a standard SUV developed in collaboration with GAC engineers.

Both innovations stand out with narrow headlights connected by an illuminated diode strip, rear lights with a similar shape and also connected, a black panoramic glass roof, as well as indentations in the area of ​​the arches and thresholds of the body.

Production of the bZ3C and bZ3X is known to begin this year. The price is not yet known, but another brother of the platform, the sedan bZ3, which was created together with FAW and BYD and is sold from 2023, can be a kind of landmark. In the basic version with a 184-horsepower electric motor and 517 kilometers of autonomy (CLTC), it will cost 169.8 thousand yuan (22,350 euros), while the 245-horsepower version will cost together with a 65 kilowatt- time to the buyer 199,800 yuan. (26,300 euros) for a range of about 616 kilometers.

Crossover bZ4X developed for European customers. The basic version is equipped with an electric motor on the front axle that develops 150 kW (204 horsepower), while the 71.4 kilowatt-hour battery provides a range of up to 516 kilometers in the WLTP cycle. In Latvia, the bZ4X price starts at 44,000 euros.
