The Japanese automobile company “Toyota Motor Corp.” announced on Monday that it is suspending deliveries of ten models because they use engines linked to testing discrepancies at the Toyota Industries unit.
“Toyota” indicates that this structural unit has not performed adequate power testing of the three diesel engine models, which is necessary for the certification of these engines.
The company explains that a total of ten models, including the Land Cruiser 300 and HiAce, use these engines.
Toyota Industries said in a separate report that employees adjusted the fuel injection figures to make the data “look better”.
“Toyota” emphasizes that it is not necessary to stop using the affected engines and cars, but the company has also decided to stop deliveries of ten models. The automaker does not specify how many cars are affected by this problem.
This is yet another misfortune that has affected “Toyota” after the scandal of falsification of car safety tests in the structural unit “Daihatsu”.
