jpnn.com, MALAYSIA – Toyota Motor has confirmed that it is holding a recall program for units Toyota Vios and Veloz in Malaysia.
Previously, information about the recall was first known from users who were active in the Toyota Vios community.

Still from information from community members, the units subject to the recall are for the fourth generation Vios, which was released in Malaysia in March 2023.
Meanwhile, Toyota Motor did not explain the number of units and production years of the Vios and Veloz affected by the repair program.

The Toyota Vios and Veloz are subject to a recall, because there are problems with the front legs.
“The purpose of this special service campaign is to re-tighten the front shock absorber nut. Improper tightening instructions on the nut that attaches the top of the front shock absorber, the nut tightening torque may be insufficient,” wrote Toyota’s official letter.

According to Toyota, this error has the potential to cause noise and the nuts could also come loose, resulting in loss of vehicle stability.
“If the vehicle is operated continuously in these conditions, the nuts may become loose, causing abnormal noise.
“In addition, the nuts can come loose, resulting in a loss of vehicle stability. Therefore, we are carrying out this special service campaign to fix this problem,” said Toyota’s official statement.
The nut tightening process will not take long, and the costs are covered by Toyota Malaysia. (paultan.org/jpnn)
