Toyota introduces the latest generation Kijang Innova with a choice of hybrid engines. Called the All New Kijang Innova Zenix EV Hybrid, how fuel efficient is this car?
PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) Vice President Henry Tanoto explained that the Innova Zenix EV Hybrid uses the same fifth-generation hybrid engine used in the latest model, the Toyota Prius Hybrid, which has just been launched in Japan.

This machine has the initials M20A-FXS, 4 cylinders in line, 1,987 cc, with variable power, i.e. 186 HP (system), 152 HP (engine) at 6,000 rpm and 113 HP for the electric motor alone. While the torque is 187.3 Nm at 4,400-5,200 rpm and 205.9 Nm for the torque of the electric motor.
“This new model has a better performance increase, an average of 25% and more economical fuel consumption, an average of 50% higher than the current generation,” Henry said in Jakarta, Monday (11/21/2022) .
Not only is fuel consumption more efficient, Henry also says the Innova Zenix EV Hybrid has lower tailpipe emissions, with tailpipe emissions reduced by up to 50%.
“Hopefully, this model will not only be an environmentally friendly mobility solution but also meet the needs of the Indonesian people,” said Henry.
