The petrol version of the Toyota Corolla Cross is no longer sold in Indonesia. In the country, the Corolla Cross gasoline is only the age of corn.
A little flashback, the Corolla Cross gasoline was first present in Indonesia in August 2020. But not even two years, the Corolla Cross gasoline is no longer for sale.
At that time, there were two types of Corolla Cross presented. The first is the Corolla Cross 1.8 Gasoline which is equipped with a 1.8L 2 ZR-FE engine. Then another type is the Corolla Cross hybrid which combines a 2ZR-FXE engine and an electric motor.

In terms of features, there are no significant differences between the two such as ABS + EBD brakes, 3 point seatbelt with pretensioner and force limiter, 7-airbags, Hill Start Assist (HSA), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Emergency Brake Signal (EBS), parking sensors in front and rear, rear parking camera, plus an immobilizer and alarm.
Especially for the All New Corolla Cross Hybrid, it gets additional comfort features with an electric 6-way seating position and a power back door equipped with a kick sensor that makes it easy to access the trunk door.
Then in terms of price, the two are also not far adrift. When it first rolled out, the price difference between the Corolla Cross petrol and hybrid was only Rp. 40 million, where the hybrid version was more expensive.
In fact, if you look at the sales figures, the hybrid version of the Corolla Cross is indeed more in demand. The Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) wholesales sales of the Corolla Cross hybrid throughout 2020 as many as 652 units, while the gasoline version is 449 units. Then in 2021, the Corolla Cross hybrid version will be distributed as many as 1,304 units and the petrol version will be 215 units.
In 2022, no more petrol versions of the Corolla Cross will be distributed to dealers. It is known, Toyota is no longer selling the gasoline Corolla Cross and is more focused on the hybrid version. While sales of the Corolla Cross hybrid are still running. At the age of two years, the Corolla Cross hybrid is still one of Toyota’s mainstays. The reason is, the Corolla Cross hybrid is also the cheapest hybrid car in the country.
