Toyota Romania has officially announced that it will import the GR Supra model. It joins the small GR Yaris in the range of sports vehicles prepared by the Japanese GR division.
The Supra has returned to the Japanese Toyota range after a hiatus of almost 20 years, with the fifth generation being launched at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show. The vehicle was developed in partnership with BMW and uses a common platform with the Bavarian Z4 model. .
Both Toyota Supra and BMW Z4 are assembled at the Magna Steyr plant in Austria. GR Supra also took over the 3.0 turbo engine from BMW, which offers 340 hp and 500 Nm. The model needs 4.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h.
The range also includes the 2.0 turbo engine with 258 hp and 400 Nm. In this case, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is done in 5.2 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 250 km / h. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Toyota importer has not yet given details about the price at which GR Supra will reach the Romanian market.
