“Toyota announces plans to develop electric cars platform for 10 new models”

One of the world’s largest car manufacturers, Toyota, has announced that it will finally develop a platform specifically for electric cars. The manufacturer aims to offer the next generation electric car in 2026. More information about these new models is expected in the fall.

Toyota’s new chairman Koji Sato admits that the electric car market is progressing very fast, so Toyota is increasing its investment in this segment. The plans of the Japanese car manufacturer are ambitious – 10 new models and one and a half million electric cars sold per year, and all this must be achieved in 2026.

Representatives of the car manufacturer indicate that the new cars will be able to cover twice the distance on a single charge than at present, thanks to more efficient batteries and control systems. Toyota has also created a development center “BEV Factory” to accelerate the development of electric cars and with them Toyota’s competitiveness. For now, Toyota has released an image of an aerodynamic-looking sporty model. The manufacturer promises both compact models and luxury cars, as well as commercial vehicles, which will be mainly intended for the US and Chinese markets.
