TOYO Corporation is the first company in Japan to use ADVA optical cesium atomic clock

SUCH

ADVA (FSE: ADV) today announced that TOYO Corporation is using Oscilloquartz’s optical cesium atomic clock to make the synchronization network of research and development facilities even more accurate. ADVA’s OSA 3300 family optical cesium clocks delivers time information with the precision required for autonomous driving. The first use of this innovative technology in Japan underlines the suitability of the device as a synchronization reference with significantly improved accuracy and stability. The solution offers great value to all companies that want to use time-sensitive applications with low latency in a variety of industries. Possible uses are, for example, in augmented reality, in the control of industrial processes or in the defense industry.

“As a company that is a global leader in advanced test and measurement systems, we appreciate the importance of ADVA’s optical cesium atomic clock. By providing ultra-stable and precise frequency information, we are enabling large research institutes to achieve an unprecedented level of timing accuracy,” said Hiroaki Tokumichi, divisional director of TOYO Corporation. “High-precision synchronization is essential in many areas such as 5G and autonomous driving. With the accuracy of ADVA’s technology, many grid applications can be supported by utilities and transportation companies. This solution can also be an important component in preventive civil protection. In combination with the compact design, this is the solution that best suits us on the market.”

ADVA’s optical cesium atomic clock is fully digitally controlled and uses optical lasers to excite the cesium atoms. The device thus achieves both improved frequency accuracy and a longer product service life. The innovative technology uses the cesium atoms much more efficiently than traditional magnetic cesium watches, providing better accuracy and greater stability over a period of more than 10 years. This means ADVA’s solution lasts 100% longer than the best performing magnetic cesium watches. In addition, the device is also prepared for future synchronization requirements and other applications thanks to its modular scalability.

“TOYO Corporation’s decision to have our industry’s first optical cesium atomic clock underscores the high value this technology will bring to a wide range of areas. From metrology to industrial control and positioning, critical applications require a high level of accuracy and availability. No other solution on the market can match the precision, stability, longevity and robustness of our cesium clock,” commented Erik Lindberg, VP Sales, APAC at ADVA. “We are pleased that our solution is being used to strengthen cutting-edge research in Japan. It shows that tomorrow’s time accuracy requirements can be met today.”
