The car was originally to be called 105. Just to underline the continuity with its ancestor. In January 1983, however, it debuted under the name 205. And, even before the sales boom, it was a critical acclaim. The press, in fact, praised the car’s agility. Which, however, was also handy and compact.

The marketing was started on February 24 of the same year, but the debut in Italy took place only in November 1983, almost a year after the official presentation.

Numerous variants of the Peugeot 205. Let’s focus on 1.9 GTi. It was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1986. Shortly before, however, the 1.6 was proposed. The Peugeot 205 1.9 GTi was equipped with a 1905 cm³ XU9 130 hp engine. Both GTI versions, 1.6 and 1.9 liters, will prove to be a great success, especially among the younger audience, who appreciated the shot, the great sporting temperament and the reasonable running costs.
