The arrival of KFC, a fast food chain specializing in fried chicken, did not only make people happy in Liège. It must be said that at a time when some advocate the land, healthy and local food and, if possible, organic, the American chain was falling like a hair in the soup … what is more, the latter unpacked its suitcases in a place (French Republic) already “in charge” of such establishments.
Today, it is precisely this “glance” which is deemed inappropriate by the authorities. The City of Liège, through the voice of Christine Defraigne, alderman for Town Planning, has just asked KCF to put its pilasters and signs in order. “At present, the trade has installed red signs on the pilasters as well as perpendicular signs”, we tell the alderman of Urbanism, “the panels are not a facing traditionally used in the old protected center.
