towards the construction of a BEAC agency in Mouilla –

The president of the transition Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema proceeded last Saturday to lay the first stone of the building of the Bank of Central African States which will be built in the town of Mouilla in Gabon.

Apart from the city of Port-Gentil, that of Oyem (Woleu Ntem) and that of Franceville, the city of Mouila will be the 4th which will have a Beac agency in Gabon. The laying of the first stone was done on Saturday December 9, 2023, by the president of the transition General Oligui Nguema.

As the duration of the work has not been communicated, we still know that the Beac agency which will be built in Mouila will include a ground floor and 3 floors, additional premises (infirmary, technical room), parking areas and others. During this ceremony, BEAC promised to develop the banking sector in southern Gabon via its future Mouila agency.

Note that the Beac was created on November 22, 1972, the BEAC is the central bank common to the six States which constitute the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC). These are respectively Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Chad. Its headquarters is in Yaoundé in Cameroon from where it issues and manages the Central African FCFA or FCFA XAF, the currency common to the six member states.
