Ten days is not much to measure the impact of the health measures introduced in the 19 departments reconfigured this month of March. But as the figures remain worrying – more than 5,000 patients in intensive care and 337 deaths – Emmanuel Macron is considering all the options within a few hours of a decisive Defense Council.
For now, in Ile-de-France and Hauts-de-France, the progression of the virus continues despite the strengthening of restrictions. In the capital region, resuscitation services are still saturated with 1,525 patients in critical care. The teams are preparing to receive 3,470 by mid-April if the epidemic situation remains the same, more than during the first wave.
