While the cost of schooling, co-financed by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) and the New Aquitaine Region, is calculated at € 221,000 per promotion, the construction of this new building, near the Nursing Training Institute (Ifas), should amount to 3 million euros. Discussions are underway between the hospital, the Region, the Department and Cobas (urban community) to secure funding.

A “critical need”
Behind this project there is also a broader ambition for the hospital which, as its director states, “was built too small”. Julien Rossignol thus recalls the doubling of emergencies and the operating room as well as the construction of a Follow-up and Rehabilitation Assistance (SSR) activity of 40 beds.
