Visitors to the Limburg amusement park Toverland have been stuck in an attraction for hours due to a malfunction. The 17 meter high family attraction Dragonwatch stood still from 2 p.m.

The fire brigade arrived on site to remove ten people from the attraction. “It is a high tower and part of it is located above the water. The rescue therefore takes a bit more effort,” says a spokesperson for Toverland.

An abseiling team from Eindhoven had to come to the park to rescue some of the visitors from their plight. “One gondola is difficult to reach for the fire brigade, so a height rescue team has been called to assist,” said a spokesperson for the North Limburg Safety Region. 1Limburg.

The attraction contained two families and a couple. After an hour the first people had been taken out. The last visitors could be freed from the attraction at 5:30 p.m. The ten people were checked by ambulance personnel, but no one was injured. “Apart from being cold, everyone is doing well,” a park spokesperson said.

Previous malfunction

The cause of the malfunction is still unclear. The attraction will remain closed for the rest of the day and visitors will be welcomed in a restaurant close to the attraction so that they can get some information. “Of course we also want to compensate them, they can come back on another day,” said the spokesperson.

In October the attraction had also been stationary for some time due to a malfunction. Then two people had to be freed from the tower.
