After SpaceX Space Tourists Return, some unpublished images of the tour are appearing in the social networks. This morning, astronaut Sian Proctor published the record of when the crew first opened the Crew Dragon’s glass dome, observing the Earth from space.
“A real highlight of the Inspiration4 mission,” he wrote Sian.
In the images, it is possible to see the crew Chris Sembroski, Hayley Arceneaux, Jared Isaacman, impressed by the scene after the opening of the dome. The team chose the song “Also sprach Zarathustra”, composed in 1896 by Richard Strauss, for the special moment. The work gained notoriety after being used in the film of science fiction: “2001: A Space Odyssey”.
The glass structure was implemented to promote a more attractive tourist experience, replacing the mooring module normally used in spacecraft to approach the International Space Station. The crew were the first civilians to take a tour of space and take a few turns around the Earth without the presence of professional astronauts in the crew.
