Aswan – Ihab Omran:
A tourist ship, which was on its way from Aswan to Luxor, partially sank after colliding with a rock in the middle of the Nile River, which created a hole in the ship’s hull.
In this context, a source in Aswan Governorate explained to Masrawy website that water leaked into the kitchen and the lower part of the ship, and 72 tourists who were inside it were rescued to another boat.
Major General Magdy Salem, Director of Aswan Security, also received a notification from the floating police, stating that while the ship was heading from Aswan to Luxor, and after completing the visit to the Kom Ombo Temple, while the ship was sailing, it collided with a rock and water began to submerge it, so it quickly returned to the anchorage of the Kom Ombo Temple.
Dr. Abdel Moneim Saeed, General Supervisor of Tourism and Antiquities in Aswan, said that all the guests, 72 tourists from France and Germany, were disembarked from the ship and transferred to another ship to complete their tourism program.
