3rd General Assembly of Einsiedeln-Ybrig-Zürichsee AG

The general meeting of Einsiedeln-Ybrig-Zürichsee AG (EYZ AG) took place to the exclusion of shareholders and guests. In the postal vote, which was carried out in advance, EYZ AG was able to look forward to a 100 percent turnout.

Mitg. The year 2020 was characterized by special challenges, countless postponements and cancellations, short-time work and cost controls. Major uncertainties in the planning of events, the management of projects and the handling of day-to-day business in the Tourist Office made the work of the operational team very difficult. Thanks to additional contributions from the impulse program of the canton of Schwyz as well as the extraordinary commitment of various partners, it was possible to continue to support the industry in the crisis and at the same time to keep the financial situation of EYZ AG stable.

Unanimous approval All agenda items were approved with no abstentions or dissenting votes. Together with the confirmation of all existing representatives on the Board of Directors, this conveys that EYZ AG is on the right track despite the difficult circumstances. Due to the ordinances, the year 2021 will be even more demanding than 2020. With the measures planned and taken, Chairman of the Board of Directors Dominik Hug is convinced that this year will also be successful.

Power despite short-time work

In the annual report, Chairman of the Board of Directors Dominik Hug discussed the Covid loans and found words of praise for the economic department of the canton of Schwyz. The team around managing director Simon Elsener was also recognized, which contributed significantly to achieving a black zero. Irrespective of the ongoing short-time work, exciting projects have been successfully implemented or are in the planning stage. Further projects are being planned for the Ybrig master plan, the FoodTrail was implemented in Einsiedeln, the follow-up project NRP Kloster II picked up speed, the Alpine Innovation Hub will be presented these days. The March-Höfe master plan was initiated on Lake Zurich, the Obersee adventure trail will open in 2021 and Art Ufnau will be created under the auspices of Einsiedeln Monastery. In 2020, EYZ AG was able to organize over 318 monastery tours with 3795 participants. This corresponds to a corona-related decrease of 184 tours. In addition, eleven new wine cellar tours could be carried out in the monastery cellar.

Events generate overnight stays With the world theater in Einsiedeln, a solid cooperation has been established over the past few years in order to successfully welcome the expected streams of visitors in the monastery village. Due to the lockdown and the subsequent cancellation, a large part of the energy and work done was unfortunately destroyed again.

Unfortunately, the Tour de Suisse in Lachen also had to be postponed to 2021, which caused considerable additional work and costs for the local OC and EYZ AG.

Together for the region Together with numerous associations, clubs and other bodies from the Einsiedeln district, a campaign was launched during the lockdown. Under the motto “En starche Gäischt – zämä for d’Region / für Einsiedlä”, various measures such as PR campaigns, open days, open-air concerts on the monastery square and the launch of new summer offers were carried out. EYZ AG took over the coordination on behalf of ET.

Focus on synergies and partnerships In the future, EYZ AG intends to increasingly form a coalition with Rapperswil Zürichsee Tourismus and Zürich Tourismus, they have the right communication channels for the offers and attractive access to the target markets. It is important to achieve even more impact even faster; analyze, evaluate and implement, always result-oriented. EYZ AG was able to expand the pleasant cooperation with local tourism organizations such as Einsiedeln Tourismus, Ybrig Holiday and Sports Region, Altendorf Tourist Office, Höfe, Lachen and Wägital and also consolidate the cooperation in structural, organizational and communicative matters with Rapperswil Zürichsee Tourismus and Zürich Tourismus.

The Einsiedeln-Ybrig-Lake Zurich region has long been integrated into the children’s region via Rapperswil Lake Zurich Tourism with attractive family offers. Since the end of the year, the entire canton of Schwyz has also been represented by Schwyz Tourism.
