An elderly man died during a hike in the Rila Mountains above Blagoevgrad, BGNES reported. The tourist’s body was transported last night to the forensic ward of the Blagoevgrad Hospital for an autopsy.
The 80-year-old man is from Sofia. He was on his way to the hut “Macedonia” with a group, which included his relatives.
“Yesterday at 7 pm we received a signal for an unconscious tourist, found on Little Bear Peak. A team of mountain rescuers and a doctor, located in the hut “Macedonia”, immediately went to the place, announced PSS-Blagoevgrad.

At 9.30 pm last night the action ended and the deceased was handed over to a team from the Blagoevgrad Center for Emergency Situations.
The temperature in the area was minus 15 degrees.
