A tourist bus with 38 people on board has overturned in Lofoten. Several people are trapped.
A bus with a total of 38 people on board has skidded off the road and overturned on Vestvågøy in Lofoten.
– Several people stuck in the bus. An ambulance provides first aid at the scene, the police in Nordland tweet.
The rescue helicopter is on its way to the scene, the police update just after 11.00.
To The Lofoten post office the police say that it is a question of a charter bus on its way to Hauklandstranda.
– There are 36 elderly tourists on board the bus, in addition to the driver and tour guide, the police inform the newspaper.
VG has not succeeded in making contact with the police.

– All of the crew we have at Leknes has been sent out to assist. They have just arrived. There will be difficult driving conditions at the site, says chief fire marshal Terje Øverdal to VG.
