An accident happened to a person tourist who goes on holiday to Thailand. The intention to go for a night out instead turned into an urgent visit to the hospital.

Reporting from Pattaya Times on Sunday (3/12/2023), the tourist’s name was Philippe Leoncuan Damme (61) and came from Belgium. Damme went on holiday to Pattaya, Thailand.

On Wednesday evening, Damme was walking near the traffic police post at the Grand Condo intersection on Jalan Thepprasit-Tappraya. Suddenly, he tripped over a wire cable that was on the sidewalk.

Unconsciously, one of the wires penetrated his hand. Damme was helped by other tourists to get help.

Rescue team comes there. They were amazed by the wire cable that pierced Damme’s hand. According to the rescue team, the wire cable was tied to an electricity pole and had separate sharp strands.

The cable penetrated Damme’s left wrist and palm to a depth of almost 10 centimeters.

Rescuers used cutting tools to free Damme’s hands. He was then taken to hospital, his condition is unknown.

After the incident, the wire cables at the scene looked different. There are no longer any sharp cables hanging down, these parts have been tied neatly so they do not pose a danger to pedestrians.
