Tourisme Côte-Nord wants to continue to ride the wave

Even if Tourisme Côte-Nord is swimming in uncertainty with the current pandemic, its new general manager, Paul Lavoie, expects 2021 to be as busy as the last season, that of 2020.

“There are many projects that are brewing to be better prepared,” says the one who has been officially in office since January 13, after acting in the fall.

The marked enthusiasm for the Côte-Nord in the summer of 2020 left positive traces and demonstrated what could be improved. “Eyes were opened on the potential of the region. There is a dynamism that is taking hold among our promoters, ”underlines Mr. Lavoie, who goes on to say that 2021 will be under the sign of north-coastal tourism development.

The Director General maintains that the region has the opportunity to do something similar to the North Shore. “There is a large field available in front of us,” he expresses.

The open air and outdoor activities market is highly sought after by tourists. The community is working to develop accommodation. Gourmet tourism, whether for berries and seafood, is also a seller. The same goes for what revolves around the river (whales and water sports). The north of the territory is also in the plans with Expedition 51. And much more!

“You can count on so many things that are in demand. There is only potential for the Côte-Nord, ”concludes Mr. Lavoie.

It only remains to continue to ride the wave.
