Tourism recovery plan: A roadmap and a label to save the sector


The government is flying to the aid of the tourism sector. Indeed, a new promotion program for the tourism sector intended to lay the foundations for a sustainable transformation of the sector was announced by the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Air Transport and the Social Economy, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, during the Government Council.

During a press briefing after the Council, the Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Government Spokesman, Saaid Amzazi, said that this project, on which the Minister of Tourism made a presentation, also sets herself the objective of preserving the economic fabric and employment, accelerating the revival of tourist activities, restructuring the sector and developing promotion programs domestic tourism in partnership with regional and local players.

The Minister emphasized the participatory nature of this program, developed in consultation with professionals from the sector and the ministerial departments concerned, which will be implemented through a roadmap covering the period 2020-2022.

This project will support tourism professionals, maintain job continuity, accelerate the integration of employees in vulnerable situations and offer tourism products that take into account the needs of domestic tourism, he said. she pointed out. The manager also presented the measures adopted by the ministry to support tourism institutions in the implementation of prevention and health measures in tourism institutions and carry out screening tests for all employees, in coordination with local authorities and representatives of the Ministry of Health. These preventive measures, available in the guide published by the ministry, will be translated into a label. Called “Welcome Safely”, this certification tends to restore confidence to Moroccan and international tourists and to facilitate the marketing of the destination Morocco.
