Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno calls for the digital upskilling of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the tourism and creative economy to revive the economy and generate employment opportunities. Recognizing the potential of MSMEs in playing a significant role in both job creation and supporting the national economy, the minister emphasizes the importance of digital marketing training to equip new and existing MSME players with market mastery. Social media is highlighted as a powerful tool in product marketing, as long as brands communicate their message with proper etiquette, informative content, and educational material. With digital training, Uno hopes that MSMEs can elevate their standing, contributing to broad economic improvement and job creation projected at 4.4 million new positions by 2024. During a seminar, the minister also advised university students to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset, noting that failure is a staircase to success, urging them not to fear experiencing setbacks along the way.
