Le magazines Time Out has just published the fifth edition of its annual list of the best cities in the world in 2022 («Best big cities in the world»). And surprise… Lyon entered the world top 20 there, in 19th place just ahead of New York.

The capital of the Gauls is ahead of cities like Buenos Aires (Argentina), Stockholm (Sweden), Tokyo (Japan) or Lisbon (Portugal). The capital of Gaul even finishes far ahead of Paris. The French capital is only in 32nd place. The ranking is dominated by Edinburgh (Scotland), Chicago (USA) and Medellín (Colombia).

In order to propose this ranking, the magazine collects the answers of thousands of inhabitants concerning their hometown and their attractiveness. At the end of June, Lyon was already recognized as the 25th city in the world where life is good according to a study by The Economist.
