The Tourism Congress of the Philippines (TCP) has recently elected its new board of trustees for the period 2023-2025, led by Bob Zozobrado, a prominent figure in the tourism industry. The TCP was created to be the private sector consultative body to assist the government in developing and implementing Philippine tourism policies. The newly appointed board includes representatives from various sectors and regions to better serve as the true representatives of the country’s tourism stakeholders. TCP is helping the Department of Tourism in ensuring that all tourism-related businesses are DOT-accredited by arranging consultative meetings with tourism enterprises starting in June in different regions. Despite the fear of a new Covid variant, tourism is thriving, and friends and relatives are enjoying reunions and trips to their favorite vacation spots. To contain the spread, wearing masks in public places is encouraged while enjoying the long, hot summer days ahead.
