2. The mappings on the facade of Casa Batlló

Every year, Casa Batlló uses its iconic facade as a canvas for spectacular mappings. A show that has become a tradition, mixing art and technology, to offer a new interpretation of Gaudí’s work. Visual artists Refik Anadol and Sofía Crespo transformed the facade into a scene of lights, colors and movements, creating a spectacle that attracts locals and tourists. The mappings not only celebrate Gaudí’s creativity, they also reaffirm the Casa’s ability to constantly reinvent itself and engage with the public, sharing an iconic façade of Barcelona. Casa Batlló remains a living space, open to all, and allows Gaudí’s work to constantly evolve

3. Interventions by contemporary architects

Gaudí’s legacy is also part of the future of Casa Batlló with interventions by renowned architects such as the Japanese Kengo Kuma. His proposal materializes in a new staircase that reinterprets the relationship between light and space, fundamental elements of Gaudí’s work. This staircase consists of five floors that connect the roof to the basement of the building. It is inspired by the building’s courtyard of lights and is a tribute to the eloquence of light in the house. The aluminum chain cladding designed by Kuma, combined with lighting by Mario Nani, offers a journey that pays homage to Gaudí in a majestic staircase that plunges into the depths.

Presentation of Casa Batlló

Casa Batlló, one of Antoni Gaudí’s most emblematic works and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005, continues to surprise with each new phase of restoration. This recent intervention on the rear facade allows visitors to discover the original colors of the house as they were designed in 1906, before the renovation.

A myth of modernist architecture, Casa Batlló has become an emblem of Barcelona and world design. The meticulous attention to detail during the restoration has allowed the rediscovery of elements that reflect the splendor of the era, restoring the vitality and artistic sense that Gaudí imprinted on every corner of the house.
