Join Dijon
The Dijon metropolis is particularly well served by train, with a 1.5 hour journey from Paris and a little over 2 hours from Lyon. Once at the station, the tram easily serves the city center, to access its accommodation or discover the beauties of the city on foot, starting with the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy, the Museum of Fine Arts or the Philippe Tower. Good.
A night visit to the historic heart
To discover Dijon’s historical heritage from a new angle, nothing better than a visit at nightfall, when the setting sun projects its golden reflections on the stones and the buildings light up with a thousand lights.
The tourist office offers guided night tours, every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evening, at 9:30 p.m., in July and August. An original way to discover the small alleys and the history of the city.
A segway ride
Another option for discovering Dijon in a fun way and without emitting a gram of CO2: embark on a segway ride, to explore the city during an organized visit.
Beginning with a short learning session, to learn the basics of handling this booming mode of travel, the visit, offered by the tourist office, then continues from place to place, in the heart of the Burgundy city.
Taste local products under the halls
Until September 20, the halls of Dijon welcome visitors every Sunday for festive brunches, around culinary proposals from different establishments, moving their kitchens for the occasion.
A good way to discover the products of the region, in an exceptional heritage setting and to the sound of concerts organized on site. To enjoy a brunch on site, or to take away, reservation is strongly recommended.
A bike trip on the Burgundy Canal
Leaving from Dijon train station, nothing could be easier than to join the Burgundy Canal and its greenway, which unroll for tens of kilometers its flat paths, very accessible, for a bike excursion. To be traveled for a few hours or several days, the greenway of the Burgundy canal allows you to admire the pretty lock houses and to watch the spectacle of the passage of the locks, by the boats navigating on the canal. Several stations located in the towns crossed by the canal, allow you to easily reach Dijon by train.
