Rimini (dpa / tmn) – In the seaside resort of Rimini on the Adriatic Sea, a new museum will open in honor of the Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini (1920-1993). The museum is to be officially opened on August 19th, informs the Emilia Romagna tourist region. It is located in three locations in the old town: Castel Sismondo, Palazzo del Fulgor and Piazza Malatesta.
The master director was born in Rimini and later returned time and again from his adopted home of Rome to his native city. Fellini achieved international fame in 1954 with the film “La Strada”. His work “La Dolce Vita” (“The Sweet Life”), which was released in Italian cinemas in 1960, is also well known.
The Fellini Museum wants to “enhance the cultural heritage of the great filmmaker in the history of cinema” and “condense the city of Rimini into a spatial and conceptual tour”.
