André Tourigny will always remain an authentic man. He is not afraid to speak from his heart and tell the truth.
Hours away from his first game as NHL head coach with the Arizona Coyotes, Tourigny offered a powerful plea for the hockey heads of his alma mater, the QMJHL.
Before Arizona, before the Ottawa 67’s, the 47-year-old native learned his trade with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.
He will always keep an attachment to the QMJHL where he devoted 11 years of his life to Rouyn-Noranda and another year with the Halifax Mooseheads after a stint as an NHL assistant with the Colorado Avalanche and the Ottawa Senators. Ottawa.

“If I have to answer that, I’ll be late for the game. There are two parts to this. I’m a guy from the Q (LHJMQ) and I find it a shame that we don’t recognize the Q. If you look at the number of coaches who come from the Q and who are in the NHL, there are none not a lot. I’m not talking about Quebecers, but guys who come from the QMJHL. There are practically none. There is Mario Duhamel (Arizona), Pascal Vincent (Columbus) and me. »

Cases with the Rangers
