Many still know it as the old cinema behind the town hall, although the free evangelical community has had its domicile there for years. Now the cinema feeling is coming back into the building. In a concert, the Tourdion Choir will present, among other things, film melodies in arrangements for a 4- to 6-part choir, some a cappella, some with piano accompaniment.

“We are really looking forward to this concert,” says choir director Martin Klein. “The hall is ideal for choral singing and the reference to the old cinema fits perfectly with our program.” In addition to well-known film tunes such as Moon River, Raindrops and Jungle Book, this also includes jazz standards by Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin and others as well as classic -Tunes, well-known classic tunes presented with a wink.

The concert begins on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 8 p.m. at Gartenweg 6. Admission is free, donations for the choir’s expenses are welcome. There will be a repeat on Saturday, May 20th at 8 p.m. in the St. Ulrich church in Bad Wörishofen, Gartenstadt, Kirchenstrasse 3.

The Tourdion Choir has existed as an amateur choir for over 25 years. “Choral singing is always fun,” says Karin Walter as a founding member. New singers are also very welcome to join the choir. More information is available at www.chor-tourdion.de.
