After a demanding Wednesday stage with two trips to Mont Ventoux on Thursday, cyclists on the Tour de France will ride a route with a significantly milder profile and only one mountain premium in the third category. When racing in Nimes after almost 160 kilometers, the spurtors should get the word out again and the British Mark Cavendish can equal the record of the Belgian legend Eddy Merckx. The stage starts at 13:40 and you can watch its progress in a detailed online report on Sport.cz (broadcast by ČT sport and Eurosport).

The reborn Cavendish, who is touring the Tour again after three years, has already won three stages in the 108th year. In total, the former world champion has 33 triumphs and one victory separates him from Merckx’s record. In Nimes, the 36-year-old Briton managed to win a mass spurt on the Tour in 2008.
Slovenian Tadej Pogačar will once again present himself in the yellow jersey of the race leader. Last year’s winner of the race increased his lead to more than five minutes on Wednesday. Petr Vakoč loses over two hours in 115th place.
