Tour overall leader Wout van Aert will defend the yellow jersey on the 172-kilometre hilly course with a start and finish on the North Sea coast.

Although the start and finish are at almost zero altitude, the competitors will be able to fight on six classified climbs.

A treacherous wind can await the competitors and they will also ride on treacherous cobblestones around the Côte de Cassel, so Tuesday’s competition will partly have the flavor of the spring classics. However, the stage is expected to result in a mass spurt again.
