The competitors will once again have a flat stage with the only mountaineering premium of the fourth class. And so especially spurters should make themselves known. The phenomenal Slovak Peter Sagan will try for the first stage laurel again.
The result of the race on the 165.5 km long track should not speak to the overall standings of the 107th year of the race, which leads the biggest favorite to triumph – Slovenian Primož Roglič, who has a 21-second lead over second-place champion Egan Bernal from Colombia.
