A terrible fall, which involved a good number of riders, including the winner of the last two Tours de France, the Dane Jonas Vingegaard, the Belgian champion Remco Evenepoel and the time trial Olympian Primoz Roglic, occurred during of the stage of the Tour of the Basque Country.
Jonas Vingegaard suffered fractures to his collarbone and several ribs, his team, Visma-Lease, announced in a post on X. “It was a terrible fall, but fortunately he is in stable condition and conscious – we read in the team’s post -. Hospital tests revealed that he has a fracture of the collarbone and several ribs. He remains under observation in hospital”.
