The C’Chartres Cyclisme Sarthois Nicolas Edet will not see the end of the Tour of Italy. The climber from the Cofidis team was forced to retire this Saturday, May 22, during the 14th stage.
The rider fell early in the course while in the peloton and was hit in the elbow. An injury whose diagnosis has not yet been revealed, but which prevented him from leaving again.
L’Eure-et-Loir at the start of the Tour of Italy this Saturday, with Nicolas Edet and Tony Gallopin
It’s a big blow for Nicolas Edet, in good shape on this Giro. He had occupied 5th place in the general classification on the evening of the 5th stage, the day after a first breakaway. After falling into line, he was still at the posts during a 12th stage finished in 7th place, this Thursday, May 20.
Like last year…
The climber still dreamed of securing a victory and aimed to reach the final finish in Milan on May 30. He was finally stopped dead, like last year when he had already suffered a fatal fall during the 15th stage.

Two participations and two withdrawals, the Tour of Italy definitely does not succeed in the representative of the C’Chartres Cycling …
Gallopin still in the race.
Angerville rider Tony Gallopin (AG2R-Citroën) is still racing on this 104th Tour of Italy. This Saturday, May 22, he finished 55th in the 14th stage. He is in 50th place in the general classification, 1h13’15 behind the leader, the Colombian Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers).
