Before this second day of racing, the Belgian team Alpecin Fenix had big ambitions with his climber Jay Vine. Unfortunately, he suffered a heavy fall on the last descent before the final ascent. “I tore my left side”
Difficult day on the bike. It was better than yesterday (Tuesday) until it was no longer the case. Unfortunately I fell on the last descent and tore my left side. I managed to get back on the bike and slowly walk to the finish, but then got into an ambulance and went to the hospital. I managed to have an allergic reaction on top of everything else (hence the swollen face and redness). I’ll spend the night here, and maybe tomorrow (Thursday) evening too, but I hope to be back in Girona (the place where he lives, editor’s note) soon.
