From 2023 a tourist tax will appear in Turkey, which will lead to an increase in the cost of tours in this country. Artur Muradyan, general manager of the tour operator Space Travel, talked about it.

“In the original the document is called“ Residence Tax ”, that is, for all objects in Turkey, including hotels, private houses and so on. In the Arab countries themselves, a tax is levied on accommodation, even for the star category of the hotel, i.e. the higher it is, the higher it is. Let’s call it, in fact, an analogue of the resort fee, but it’s important that it be charged on any rental accommodation, “Muradyan said in an interview with NEWS.RU.

According to the expert, the cost of the vouchers will increase in a similar way to the new tax, which, at the moment, is expected to be paid at a rate of 2%. Muradyan explained that for Russians flying to Turkey on an all-inclusive basis, the tax will be included in the cost of the tour.

Previously, tour operators reported that this season, tours in Turkey have become 30% more expensive comparison with the previous year. In September, the largest Turkish banks has stopped working with the Russian payment system “Mir”.
