The 5th stage of the Tour de Martinique in round skiffs is won by Sara / Autodistribution (Marin) this Friday August 5, 2022 at Le Diamant. The skiff of the Marin consolidates its first place in the general classification.

As soon as they set off from La Française beach in Fort-de-France, the yolpers from CTDM/EDF (Lamentin) leap onto their upright antlers in an area they know better than the others. They take the lead at the first buoy, located at Port Cohé in Le Lamentin.
The couriers then follow the coast via the islet to Ramier. CTDM (Lamentin), Sara /Autodistribution (Marin), Rosette Orange / Caraïbe (François), Ufr /Chanflor (Robert), pass in this order.
But the wind is surprising and the strong gusts can make the race lose control. The Royal Fruits de Martinique/Adep (Trinité), Prixe/Banamart (Vauclin) boats sank. For its part, the team of William Saurin / Miltis, returns to a beach for a change of sail.
At the front of the race, change of situation near Cape Salomon. Without forcing the pace and being more consistent than the others, the crew of Sara / Autodistribution took the lead by overtaking CTDM/EDF. “Sara’s couriers / Autodistribution impose a physical challenge on others”notes our consultant Henri-Emile Largen.
Meanwhile, Ufr/Chanflor and Rosette/Orange Caraïbe are struggling off Anses d’Arlet. Sara /Autodistribution is racing ahead…
In another difficult part of the sea in this stage, at the Passe des Fous au Diamant, the sailor’s skiff continues its demonstration. Ufr/Chanflor move up to second place.
Upon arrival on Diamant beach, Sara /Autodistribution takes the 5th stage.
Tomorrow (Saturday August 6, 2022), 6th stage between Diamant and Rivière-Pilote.
